The past few weeks have been extremely busy for Central Florida Rowing. On Halloween weekend, both the men’s and women’s teams traveled to Deland for the Hatter Classic. The Men’s Varsity 4 took gold while the eight rowed unopposed. The women’s team put out one Varsity eight, two varsity fours, one novice eight and a novice four. The novice team had their first ever race at the Hatter Classic, providing experience for the younger rowers.
This past weekend, the team traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Head of the Hooch. The team took 45 rowers and coaches this year. Due to such a large number of rowers, the team rented a charter bus for the trip. The ride provided a great opportunity for the both the varsity and novice squads to interact and bond with one another. It was great to see large numbers for Central Florida at the Hooch in comparison to recent years.

On October 31, 2009 the men and women's club lacrosse teams played against each
other in the first ever "UCF Hallolax Scrimmage". Dressed in Halloween costumes, we
alternated between men and women's rules and played a half field scrimmage. The
head coach of the mens club team John Drehoff, was nice enough to oversee and
serve as referee and score keeper for the event. The lacrosse teams are planning
another men, women's scrimage during Christmas in which both teams are required to
dress in holiday clothes (elves, reindeer, ugly sweaters, santa) All Sport Club teams
should come out and watch, it should be a good time and you can get points! More info
on that later! check out our websites laxknights.com or knightslax.com

Semi Finals
Last night, the Knights played White Lightening in the CFSL semi finals. The Knights came out hard and had an extravagant game. McKenzie Cloak fired in a goal within the first few minutes of her being in the game, which set up the morale for all the Knights players. Elise Larett scored another goal off of a break away, and then Shannon Schaefer scored a goal from the top of the box. The White Lightening scored a goal, making it 3-1; but soon the Knights came back and scored a fourth goal, which was finished by Elise Larett. In the last few minutes, White Lightening scored one goal, and the game ended with the Knights victory of 4-2, sending them to the finals match against Thumbs Up on Thursday night.
